Mott, Alice J. (13 May 1900 – 15 October 2021)

Alice J. Mott, 92, Neillsville, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, October 15 at Neillsville Memorial Home.

She was born May 13, 1900, in Tomahawk, to the late Julius and Anne (Loftus) Johnson. She was educated in Tomahawk and then worked in Chicago for a short time. She was married to Mural A. Mott, July 25, 1924, in Michigan, and he died in March 1974. After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Milwaukee until 1946. They then moved to the Neillsville area, and she had resided there until the time of her death.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Republican Women, Clark County Historical Society and various card clubs.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Aline) Brown of Cornelia, Ga, Mrs. Bud (Helen) Buechel of Neillsville, Mrs. James (Joan) McKeon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Audrey Crandell of Victory; one sister, Mrs. Helen Anderson of Tomahawk; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Murel A., one son, Murel, one sister, one grandson and one granddaughter.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville with the Rev. James Gordon officiating. Music will be provided by Calvary Lutheran Church Choir and Marlys Clow, accompanist. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service time, Monday.

Family members will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, in Tomahawk. A graveside committal service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is in charge of arrangements.
