The Neillsville Kiwanis Club named senior Terren Stockheimer as its Junior Kiwanian for February.

“While maintaining a strong academic record throughout her four years of high school, Stockheimer has also been involved in various extra-curricular activities, athletics and community activities,” Kiwanian Brent Shoup swore in a Feb. 15 press release.

Stockheimer is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, 4-H, Clark County Dog Project and FFA.

She has competed in basketball and softball throughout high school and was named captain of those squads. She was selected as an all-conference player in softball last year.

Stockheimer has participated in more than 2,000 hours in community service projects. That includes work for the Neillsville Recreation Department, Clark County Humane Society, United Way with food deliveries, Adopt-a-Highway and Marshfield Clinic, which was to make masks.

She has also worked part-time through high school, with past and present employment including M&M Catering, the Neillsville Recreation Department and Pizza Ranch.

Following graduation this spring, Stockheimer plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to major in biology with a pre-dental emphasis.

“Our community can take pride in students like Terren Stockheimer, who attain high academic and athletic achievement, while serving their community through numerous volunteering efforts,” Shoup wrote. “The Neillsville Kiwanis Club is please to have this outstanding individual as its Junior Kiwanian and wishes her continued success as she pursues her career goals.”

Stockheimer is the daughter of Melissa and Gary Stockheimer. She participated in the Kiwanis club’s meeting throughout February.
