Embracing Their Contribution to Education (Memorials - 2021)
Three memorial books were donated to the Neillsville School District in memory
of two longtime educators, Marian Ray and Karen Erpenbach. Mrs. Ray, a 1940
graduate of Neillsville, began her teaching career at the Christie Mound School
and Riverside School (both one-room schools) and continued in Fairchild before
starting her 25-year teaching career in Neillsville in 1962, where she taught
first grade; she retired in 1984. Mrs. Erpenbach formerly taught in Stratford
before coming to Neillsville, where she taught English, math and social studies.
Her vast travel experiences enriched her 44 years of teaching.
Accepting the donations, “Spies, Code Breakers and Secret Agents,” Kamala and
Maya’s Big Idea,” and “World War II for Kids,” from Jackson County Area Retired
Educator members Clarice Franke (l) and Mary Ann Jensen (r) is Melissa Boon
Strangfeld, 4K-12 media specialist.
