Lunka, Frank (22 August 1909 – 23 August 1976)

Frank Lunka, Jr., 62. former resident of Willard, died Monday, August 23 at 4 p.m. at the Lakeland Hospital in Zephyr Hills, Fl., after a lingering illness.

Frank Lunka was born August 22, 1909 in Ely, Mn. He came with his parents to Willard in 1910. He was married to Margaret Petrich in 19 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. After their marriage they farmed in the Willard area until 1962 when they moved to Eveleth, Mn. In 1971 they went to Zephyr Hills, F., where they resided ever since.

Surviving him are his wife, 2 daughters, Joyce and Bernadine, also three grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Emil (Marie) Leesch of Redfield, S.D.; Mrs. James (Frances) Hauser of Westmont, Il.; and Mrs. Joe (Anna) Ulesich of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Joseph Lunka.

A memorial mass was held Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. John Heagle, pastor, officiated.

A memorial mass was held on Wednesday, August 25 at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zephyr Hills. His body was donated to science.
