Marcott, Rita (Marriage – 18 September 1976)

The Curtiss Alliance Church was the setting for the September 18 wedding of Miss Rita Marcott, daughter of Art and La Vern Marcott of Rt. 1 Curtiss, and Greg Navarre, son of Mrs. Ed Roettger of Withee and Jim Navarre, of St. Paul, Mn. Pastor Lester Kringle officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Curtiss Hall.

The bride’s A-line, empire-waist gown of sheer polyester organza over acetate taffeta featured cotton lace trim and an attached chapel length train. A matching hat and a cascade bouquet of yellow roses, white carnations, blue-tinted carnations and baby’s breath completed her ensemble. She was presented in marriage by her father.

Miss Linda Marcott, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor and Miss Susan Marcott of Milwaukee, aunt of the bride, was her bridesmaid. They wore gowns of crepe knit with matching hats and carried colonial arrangements of three roses surrounded by light-blue-tipped carnations, baby’s breath and foliage.

Rod Schoelzel of Owen served as bestman and Tom Newmann of Curtiss, as groomsman. Both are friends of the groom. Acting as ushers were Randy Marcott, West Allis, and Al Roettger, Stillwater, Mn.

The newlyweds, both graduates of Owen-Withee High School, will make their home on Rt. 2 Colby, upon returning from a wedding trip around Wisconsin and Minnesota. The new Mrs. Navarre is employed as a waitress in Abbotsford and her husband is employed as a carpenter by a home construction firm.
