Ystad, Eunice D. (17 Sep 1935 – 5 Feb 2021)

Eunice Darlene (Smith) Ystad, 85, Spanaway, Wash., formerly of Greenwood, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021. A celebration of her life will be held in September, with details pending.

Eunice Darlene Smith was born on Sept. 17, 1935, in the town of Loyal, to Floyd and Myrtle Smith. On June 4, 1955, she married Neil Ystad in Loyal. Shortly thereafter, Darlene and Neil moved to Washington State, where she lived for many years. She was a wonderful mother, wife, and for many years a typesetter. In retirement, she enjoyed quilting, traveling, and spending time with her beloved family and friends both in Washington and Wisconsin.

Darlene is survived by her children: Arlan (Ruthann) Ystad of Puyallup, Wash., Arlene (Brian) West of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Charlene DeLoach of Puyallup, Wash.; a stepson, Keith (Gen) of Mountain View, Hawaii; 13 grandchildren: Allen, Carmen, Cassandra, Shawn, Justin, Desiree, Neil, Amanda, Tanisha, Peter, Aubree, Betsy and Kate; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Carla Lane of Denison, Texas; one sister-in-law, Gwen (Fred) Trebe of Keshena; and many nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Myron; and a sister, Ila Mae.
