Lukas, Max (7 June 1906 – 3 March 1977)
An American Stores Dairy Company employee for many years, Max Lukas of Neillsville, died suddenly Thursday, March 3, at the age of 70. Funeral services were held Monday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Nordin of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mr. Lukas, son of Frank and Maria Chadik Lukas, was born June 7, 1906, in Czechoslovakia and received his early education in schools there. He came to the United States as a young boy and settled in the Town of York in Clerk County, where he completed his education. His marriage to the former Mary Wendell took place September 22, 1927, in Neillsville.
Mr. Lukas worked for the American Stores Dairy Company in Neillsville for over 30 years and had been self-employed in the Neillsville area for the past several years.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include two children, Wallace Lukas of Milwaukee and Mrs. Alice Yule of Waukesha; one sister, Mrs. Marie (Kubat) Zamrzla of Lake Josephine, Fl.; and five grandchildren.
