Nemitz, Carl A. (29 March 1913 - 14 March 1977)

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 for Carl A. Nemitz, 63, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who was pronounced dead upon arrival at Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 14. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff will officiate, and burial will be made in the Town of Hewett Cemetery.

Friends could call at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and this (Thursday) morning until noon, when the body of Mrs. Nemitz was to be taken to the church to lie in state there for an hour before the services..

Carl Nemitz, son of Carl and Amelia Sherbinski Nemitz, was born March 29, 1913, in the Town of Pine Valley and attended Silver Crest School and St. John’s Lutheran School. After completing his formal education, he farmed on the home farm in the Town of Pine Valley.

He also worked on construction of the Neillsville Post Office and the Moraine Motel, and for the telephone company in the construction of utility lines. For the past 23 years, Mr. Nemitz had been employed by Van Gorden and Sons elevator. He had worked as well at Quinell’s Mink farm.

On October 16, 1948, in Neillsville, he was married to the former Arlene Gregory, who survives. Other survivors include two children, Carl Nemitz, Jr., and Mrs. Warren (Valerie) Kinnick, both of Neillsville; a sister Mrs. Meta Lange of Racine; and one grandchild.

Mr. Nemitz was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
