Olson, Diane Jo (23 Oct 1963 – 20 Dec 2020)
Diane Jo Olson was born on Oct. 23, 1963, in Marshfield, to Hedwig Bauer
(Klinke) and the late Frank Klinke, a homemaker and a farmer. Diane passed away
on Dec. 30, 2020, at the age of 57, in Glenwood Springs, Colo. A service to
celebrate Diane’s life will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Glenwood
Springs, Colo., on May 7, at 10 a.m.
Diane grew up in Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1982
where she was active in volleyball, softball, and 4-H. Diane and Gary Olson were
married in Greenwood on June 18, 1982. In 1988, Gary and Diane moved to Glenwood
Springs, Colo., where they raised their three children. Diane took great pride
in her work as a property manager to many homes in the valley. Diane was an
exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time
with her husband and family, adoring the beautiful mountains, planting flowers
and tending to her garden, loving her grandchildren, traveling, country music,
puzzles, dominos, cards and cornhole, snowmobiling and ATV riding, fishing,
crafting and decorating for the holidays. She was a wonderful cook and baker who
loved having everyone gather to enjoy food and each other’s company. A friend to
all. Diane was one of the sweetest people around. Her love language was taking
care of others. From a simple cooked meal to a last-minute road trip, Diane was
the kind of friend always ready to be by your side.
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Gary; her children: Devon
(Loren) Hoen, Leon (Evie) Olson, and Nikki (Scott) Kozlak; eight grandchildren:
Braylon, Trindon, Colby, Kendall, Logan, Palmer, Quinn, and Brecken; her mother,
Hedwig Bauer; three sisters: Geri (Gayle) Schoengarth, Suzie (Larry) Pakiz, and
Judy (David) Hinker; nephews and nieces; her friend, Janet McNutt; and many
other friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Klinke; a sister, Janet Oben; and
her stepfather, Robert Bauer.
Diane donated her organs and has blessed many other lives by her generous gift.
