Richmond, Carole Jeanne (20 August 1977)

The Granton United Methodist Church was the setting for the August 20 exchange of marriage vows between Carole Jeanne Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Richmond of Rt. 2 Granton, and Gerri Lee Krueger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Krueger of Rt. 1 Arpin. The Rev. William Noble officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a 3:30 reception at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

The bride appeared in a gown of nylon organza and Alencon lace fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline and bishop sleeves. The empire waistline showed a full A-line skirt extending into to a chapel train. Both the gown and the bride’s Juliet half-cap were touched with blue and blue-tinted carnations as she was presented in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Robert Sparkes, Vesper, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Karen Richmond of La Crosse, Miss Debbie Swan of Wisconsin Rapids and Miss Barbara Richmond and Miss Laurie Richmond, both of Neillsville. Their A-line gowns of blue and lavender floral organza featured short, flared sleeves and cape-collar detailing. Parasols of matching fabric accented their costumes, they wore white rose buds in their hair.

The groom was attended by Robert Sparkes, Vesper, as bestman and by Paul Luppino of Iron Belt, Marv Richmond of Granton, Al Gansch of Vesper and Mike Kruger of Arpin as groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by Larry Krainz, Marshfield, and Andy Kaminski, Wisconsin Rapids.

Soloist Barbara Richmond sang “Wedding Song” and “Morning Has broken.” The organist was Caroline Helm.

The bride was honored at two prenuptial showers given by her bridesmaids. A rehearsal dinner was held at Bali Hai Supper Club.

The new Mrs. Krueger is a 1975 graduate of Granton High School and a 1977 graduate of Mid-State Technical Institute, Wisconsin Rapids, in secretarial science. Her husband graduated in 1975 from Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids, and in 1977 from Mid-State Technical Institute there in diesel mechanics. He is presently employed by Schneider Trans. in Green Bay as a mechanic. Upon their return trip from a wedding trip to Yellowstone, they will live in Green Bay.
