Simerson, Florence (13 Jul 1898 – 20? Mar 1972)
Mrs. Lester Simerson, 73, of Dorchester, died suddenly at her home on Monday.
The funeral was held Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester, with
Rev. Schuh officiating. The Maurina Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The former Flroence McDonald was born July 13, 1898 at Rib Lake. She was
educated in the Medford public school, and married Lester L. Simerson in 1922 in
Medford.
They operated a hotel in Phillips from 1929 to 1947, and operated the Fayette
Hotel in Medford from 1950 to 1955. The couple were residents of Dorchester the
past 19 years, and have operated the Dorchester Furniture Manufacturing Company
since that time.
Mrs. Simerson was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar
Society.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Donald of St. Paul; one brother, Dr.
owen G. McDonald of Lake Forest, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Danmen of
Washington, D.C., and Sister Rita M. Roy McDonald of Alverno College, Milwaukee;
and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard, who died in 1970, also six
brothers and four sisters.
