Paul, Rose (14 Dec 1898 – 18 Mar 1972)

Mrs. Rose Paul, 73, of Stratford, died early Saturday morning at her home in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County of an apparent heart attack. Services were held at Emanuel Lutheran Church at March Rapids on Tuesday, with Rev. Walter Koepsell officiating. Burial was made in the Milan Cemetery. The Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Rose Brunner was born in the Town of Little Black, Taylor County, on December 14, 1898. She received her education in the Stetsonville School. She married Rudolph Paul in Medford in 1924, and the couple lived in Milwaukee for several years. They settled on a farm in the Town of Holton and lived there until her husband’s death in 1962. In 1963 Mrs. Paul made her home with her son in the Town of Eau Pleine.

She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and its ladies aid.

Survivors include four children, Mrs. Verna Dake of Milwaukee; Mrs. David (Elaine) Noonan, Gilman; Mrs. Leon (Joyce) Reckner of Stratford, and Donald Paul, also of Stratford; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chris Brunner of Stetsonville and William Brunner, Medford; three sisters, Mrs. Frieda Ruesch of Medford, Mrs. Alfred (Lil) Nernberger of Stetsonville and Mrs. Fred (Esther) Suter of Milwaukee.

One sister, Emma, preceded her in death.
