Blum, Johanna M. (17 February 1878 - 31 January 1978)

Funeral services were held from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Friday, February 3, for Johanna M. Blum, 99, who died in Neillsville Memorial Home on January 31. She was born February 17, 1878, in Germany, Johanna M. Blum was the daughter of Helmuth and Carolina (Wegner) Blum. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Helene Schroeder, Elizabeth Wendell and Martha Riegel and three brothers, Carl, John and Paul.

Officiating at the early afternoon services was the Rev. D.E. Sprague of the Neillsville Assembly of God Church. Musical selections were offered by three nieces of the deceased, Esther Balts, Lois Kohnhorst and Grace Finnila, who sang “What a Day That Will Be” and “Face to Face,” accompanied by Janice Ware. Pallbearers were James Simonson, Wendell Ott, Lester Balts and Eugene Schroeder. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Attending services from out of town were Mr./Mrs. Lester Balts, Dallas; Mrs. Robert Kohnhorst and Barbara, Wausau; Mrs. Grace Finnila, Owen; Mrs. Dorothy Beyer and Mr./Mrs. Eugene Schroeder, of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr./Mrs. Bernard Clouse, Loyal; Mrs. Johanna Venzke, Milwaukee; Mr./Mrs. Alvin Venzke, Abbotsford; Mrs. Harold Schlinsog and Mrs. Norman Faber and Emma, of Granton; Mr./Mrs. Paul Hauser and Sarah, of Eau Claire and many Neillsville friends.
