Seelow, Kenneth W. (17 August 1921 – 6 February 1978) With Flag

Kenneth W. Seelow, 56, Greenfield, passed away suddenly white at work on Monday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at West Allis Memorial Hospital. Born August 17, 1921, in Neillsville, to William Seelow and Sarah Pedder, he was also educated in the area.

After his education he joined the Navy and served in Europe during World War II. After his tour of duty, he farmed in the Neillsville area for eight years before moving to Milwaukee where he was employed as a truck driver. He married the former Eleanor Hansen, August 30, 1942, in Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Richard of Oak Creek, Eugene of Milwaukee and DeWayne of Humbird, six sisters, Mrs. Leon (June) Schnabel and Mrs. Herman (Berdella) Carl of Neillsville, Mrs. Kenneth (Lila) Burr of Loyal, Mrs. Larry (Cleone) Zink of Cudahy, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Harrington of Milwaukee and Mrs. Terry (Beverly) Snyder of Simpsonville, S.C., three brothers, Russell and Frederick, both of Neillsville, and William, Jr. of Tucson, Az., and his father William of Neillsville.

He is preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Donna.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating. The body was to have lain in state from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday morning until noon, then at the church one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Town of Pine Valley Cemetery.

Seelow was a member of the Racine County-Line Rifle Club and Teamsters Local Number 200, Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Kenneth W. Seelow, 56. Rev. Gary Clark officiated at the services held at the United Church of Christ, with burial in the Town of Pine Valley cemetery. Mrs. Deon Spangler was the accompanist and Mrs. Mae Peters the singer for “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Pallbearers were Mark Harrington, Fredrick Seelow, Jr., Albert Mazola, Jerry White, Donald Schnabel, Eugene Carl, Wayne Jackson and David Zink.

A very long list of family, relatives and friends attended from Neillsville, Greenwood, Willard, Granton, Marshfield, Loyal, Chili, Humbird, Augusta, Fairchild, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and so many more and also of towns in Arizona, South Carolina, Illinois and Minnesota.
