Riedel, Mamie (22 November 1902 – 15 February 1978)

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Arthur (Mamie) Riedel, 75, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Granton last Friday, February 17.

Mrs. Riedel, nee Schmidt, was born November 22, 1902, near Spencer. She was educated in the Spencer and Marshfield schools and married in Waukegan, Ill., October 16, 1922. The couple lived in Milwaukee for two years then moved to the Town of Lynn where they farmed until retirement in 1964. At that time, the couple moved to a Rt. 1 Granton home.

Mrs. Riedel, who died February 15 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, was active in the Ladies Aid of Zion Lutheran, the Lynn Birthday club and the Clark County Senior Citizens.

Surviving ae four sons, Lloyd, Rt. 1 Pittsville, Clifford, Rt. 1 Marshfield, Dale, Rt. 1 Chili, and Don, Loveland, Co. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, were her husband, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

The Rev. Horst Augustin officiated at the afternoon services with burial made in the Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Pallbearers included Dennis, Neil, Larry, Tom and Terry Riedel and Dennis Berletne. Mrs. Walter Helm sang while accompanied by Mrs. Roger Helm on the organ. The Gilbertson Funeral Home of Granton was in charge of arrangements.
