Vandeberg, Marjorie Ann (28 December 1942 – 4 June 2021)

Marjorie Vandeberg, age 78, of Granton, died Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Riverside Assisted Living Center in Neillsville.

Marjorie Ann Dietz was born on December 28, 1942, in Greenwood, the daughter of Fred and Myra (Schultz) Dietz. She graduated from Granton High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to John H. Vandeberg on November 5th of that same year. In her early years she enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiling. They raised their five children on the family farm and Marjorie also was a dedicated a farmwife, and an excellent bookkeeper for the farm. Her true devotion was caring for the calves and kittens on the farm.

She was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church, ECLA and an honorary member of W/ELCA. Marge was also a former member of the Granton FFA Alumni. She enjoyed tuning into the news every day at 11:30, talking with her neighbors, gardening, and canning. Anytime you stopped in to visit she always had country music playing in the kitchen. Everyone loved her home-made stuffing at Thanksgiving. She loved her packers, and you could always hear her from miles away. In retirement Marge loved sitting and watching birds, deer and all the nature at the farm.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years John Vandeberg of Granton; her four children, Jim (Fiancé, Donna) Vandeberg of Granton, Barb (Brian) Friemoth of Neillsville, Debbie Vandeberg of Granton, and Bob (Jenny) Vandeberg of Granton, grandchildren, Jessica (Cory) Melvin along with their children, Skylar, Paytyn and Lexi, Ashley (Jeff) Handt and their children, Easton and Evelynn, Zach Friemoth, McKenzie Friemoth and her son Owen, Chris (Ashley) Vandeberg along with their children, Conner, Hailey and Joscelin, Austin Vandeberg, Page Vandeberg and her son, KyRon and Ryan Brost. Marjorie is also survived by a sister, Deloris Dietz of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry, grandson Ryan Vandeberg, her parents, a sister, Violet Dietz and two infant siblings.

A Memorial Service for Marjorie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, WI. Pastor Daniel Zimmerman will officiate. Interment will be at the Town of Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17th at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Church. Honorary pallbearers are Jessica Melvin, Ashley Handt, Zach Friemoth, Mckenzie Friemoth, Chris Vandeberg, Page Vandeberg and Austin Vandeberg.

Special appreciation to her caregivers Carol-Jean, Cheryl and Sue who took such good care of our mom while she was still home. The family would all like to thank every caregiver at Riverside Assisted Living and hospice for their compassionate care they gave our mom while she was there.
