Cook, Patricia (12 Feb 1972)

Miss Patricia Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cook of McHenry, Ill., became the bride of Woodrow Wiedenhoeft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiedenhoeft, Colby, at a candlelight service in the First United Methodist Church at McHenry, Ill. on February 12, 1972. The Reverend Raymond White performed the ceremony.

Maid of Honor was Diane Cook, Chicago, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cathy Allman, Seymour, Ill., Sue Martin, Racine, and Linda Laurence, McHenry, all friends of the bride.

Best man was Bill Murray of Wauwatosa, a friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Bill Doan, Milwaukee, Jerry Janzak, Woodstock, Ill., and Jim Melvin of Medford, all friends of the groom. Ushers were Ray Cook, brother of the bride, and Dale Tuttle, a friend of the bride and groom.

For her wedding the bride wore a winter white moray taffeta dress of Victorian style with lace trimming. The floor length veil trimmed with lace that matched the dress cascaded from the headpiece made of winter white moray taffeta and lace. The bride carried a Bible decorated with miniature white carnations and red sweetheart roses with trailing streamers and green ivy.

The bride’s attendants wore dresses also of Victorian style with the Maid of Honor in wedgewood blue, and the bridesmaids in cranberry red. They carried heart shaped bouquets made of red and white carnations, sweetheart roses with a candle burning at the top. The bride’s dress and the bridesmaid’s dresses were sewn by the bride’s mother.

Melody Ruth sang “Our Father”, “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “Everything is Beautiful,” accompanied by Mrs. John Lieghty, both of McHenry.

A centerpiece adorned the altar and candelabra in the church were decorated with green fern.

A reception for two hundred guests was held in the Church Hall.

The groom is a 1970 graduate of UW-Whitewater and is a Business Education teacher. The bride is a 1971 graduate of UW-Whitewater and is a Special Education teacher at Marshfield.
