Jake, William (8 January 1886 – 27 March 1978)
William Jake, 92, passed away at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Monday, after being a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home for two years and in poor health.
Jake’s funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Burial was to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Jake was born to John and Amelia (Saeger) Jake on January 8, 1886, in Marquette County. He also received his education in that area. Prior to moving to Neillsvi8lle in 1926, he farmed in Marquette and Clark counties, for a number of years and married Mabel Haskins in Portage in 1909. He had worked at various jobs in Neillsville until his retirement.
Jake is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Wallace of Neillsville, Mrs. Dana (Iva) Albee of Cambria, Mrs. Wilbur (Ina) Turner of Kirkland, Ill., and Mrs. Roger (Margaret) Riley of Hortonville; two sons, Harley of Steilacoom, Wa., and Orville of Neillsville; also, two sisters, Mrs. Ella Carpenter of Culver City, Ca., and Mrs. Dorothy Knoblock of Kenosha, and 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, who died in 1961; two sons, Alvin and William, Jr.; and one grandson, Robert.
