Five Colby High School forensics members received highest ratings in the state
contest held in Madison April 22, 1972. Those students who received “A” ratings
are: Poetry: Charlene Edblom and Dan Beyerl; Oratory: Wendy Awe and Linda Hilber;
Prose: Russ Mueller.
Receiving “B” ratings were Paula Mohan, Public address, and Dyanne Firnstahl in
Prose. Fay Hainzlsperger received a “C” rating on her memorized declamation.
Students from all parts of Wisconsin competed in this event, creating a wide
range of competition, style and ideas. It is considered a fine accomplishment to
reach the state meet. These students and their advisers, Mr. LaSota and Miss
Serum, are to be commended for their fine work.
