Van Dreel, Henry J. (2 Jun 1880 – 1 May 1972)

Henry John Van Dreel, 91, formerly from the Town of Frankfort (Marathon Co.), died May 1, 1972 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. Services were held May 3 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, with the Rev. Francis Rushman conducting the services. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Colby. The Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Van Dreel married the former Mary schilling, April 20, 1909. He came to the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County, as a young man and farmed there his entire life, retiring about 1958. When his wife..(some of the article is missing from the newspaper)

He led offices on the school board in the Town of Frankfort and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Order of Foresters.

Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Joseph (Roselyn) Schmirler, Edgar, Mrs. Lloyd (Helen) Trekler, Stratford, Mrs. Otto (Verena) Lueschow, Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Louis (Ludmilla) Klonowski, Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Wm. (Dona) Waldhart of Appleton; three sons, Jerome, Wisconsin Rapids; Virgil of Marquette and Floyd of Colby; 41 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Hinkens, Little Chute, Wisconsin, and a brother, George Van Dreel of Appleton.

Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
