Greenwood High School (Music Awards - 1978)

The music department of the Greenwood Community High School had eleven entries participate at the state music festival held in Eau Claire Saturday.

Debbie Edwards received a first for her tympani solo and the brass quartet with percussion also received a first.

Taking second place was Gigi Plautz with here piano solo and Duane Decker and Scott Benson with their trumpet-trombone duet. Also receiving seconds were Laura Lesar and Mike Larson with a cornet – baritone duet; Gigi Plautz, Karen Kaltinger and Ann Gregorich with a woodwind trio; and Debbie Edwards, Scott Herrick and Dave Larson with a drum trio.

In third place were Karen Kaltinger with an oboe solo; Rob Edwards with a tuba solo; and Mark Zimmer with a tenor sax solo. The woodwind choir also received a third placing.
