Bouquets of roses and carnations graced the altar of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, for the marriage April 29, 1972 of Miss Debra Hesgard and David Hoernke. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hesgard, Colby, and parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hoernke, also of Colby.

The Rev. D. T. Pankow officiated at the 1 p.m. double ring ceremony. Mrs. William Frome was the organist and provided accompaniment for the soloist, Ken Schulz.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of sheer organza. Venice lace accented the A-line silhouette which featured a high neckline and full bishop sleeves. A full length matching chapel illusion veil complemented the gown. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Mrs. Mark Carpenter, matron of honor, and Miss Sheila Nacker, bridesmaid, wore matching gowns of sheer blue floral print, which featured a high ruffled neckline. They carried parasols with blue coordination flowers.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was Mark Carpenter. Groomsman was Dale Hoernke, and ushers were Randy Hesgard and Ray Salter.

A wedding reception for 300 guests was held at the Trianon Ballroom.

The bride attended Colby High School, as did the bridegroom. He is employed by the Colby Cheese Factor.
