Neillsville-UW-River Falls (Grads – 28 May 1978)

A estimated 371 of the 518 graduates of the UW-River Falls this year will participate in commencement activities on Sunday, May 28, at 2:00 p.m. Two area students are included in that group and will be receiving special honors.

Mark Vornholt, 117 Hewett St., Neillsville will receive a bachelor of science degree in agriculture education with a minor in farm management. Vornholt will graduate with an honorable mention award. This is given to students who have achieved a 3.25 grade-point average or better for the last two years.

David Wayne Zoutendam, 633 Court St., Neillsville, will receive a bachelor of science in agriculture degree with major emphasis in agriculture engineering technology and a minor in farm management. He will be awarded special honors, granted to students who have earned 3.75 grade-point average for the last two years.

Ody J. Fish, former member of the UW Board of Regents will deliver the commencement address in the Melvin Wall Amphitheatre. A concert by the University Band will also be held in the Amphitheatre prior to the commencement activities. Following the ceremony, a reception for graduates, parents and friends will be served in the ballroom and dining area of the Hagestad Student Center.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony, and concert will b held in the Karges Gym.
