Kaudy, Elsie L. (18 January 1899 – 14 June 1978)

A retired Town of York and Eaton farmwife, Mrs. Lewis (Elsie L.) Kaudy, 79, passed away, June 14, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after a lingering illness. Elsie Kaudy was born January 18, 1899, to Parker and Julia Metcalf in Phillips. She moved with her parents to the Neillsville area and received her education here. After marrying Lewis Kaudy, October 16, 1919, in Neillsville, she and her husband lived in the Town of York for several years and also farmed in the Town of Eaton for many years.

Surviving besides her husband is one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Marie) Conway, Burbank, Ill.; one son, Jack, Stetsonville; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Miller, Neillsville; one brother, Leon Metcalf, Neillsville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 17, at 2:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with the Rev. Gary Clark, of the Neillsville United Church of Christ, of which Elsie Kaudy was a member. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
