Miss Loretta Gumz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gumz, Route 1, Colby, was crowned “Miss Dorchester – 1972” Friday night in Memorial Hall. Miss Pat Thomsen, daughter of Mrs. Beverly Thomsen, Stetsonville, was runner-up in the queen contest. Miss Vicky Zak, the 1971 Miss Dorchester, crowned the new Miss Dorchester. Miss Gumz received a $300 savings bond, a $100 wardrobe, a $50 oil portrait and a hair styling. Don Robida was chairman of the queen contest.
