Bob Gosse of Curtiss, looking to expand his business, has opened a second “Bob’s Automotive Center” in Colby, the first having opened in Curtiss two years ago. The new services is housed at the former DX Service Station site.

After graduating from high school Gosse moved to Milwaukee, where he served a three-year apprenticeship in auto-mechanics. His experience in the automotive field includes attending technical school in Milwaukee, where he later taught automatic transmission repair and oil circuitry. He has also completed several tune-up courses on the Sun Equipment line, which he has worked with the past six years. While in Milwaukee Gosse was a member of the pt crew for a Chevrolet race team.

In expanding, Gosse has acquired an additional piece of Sun Equipment, an infrared exhaust emission tester. It diagnose carburetor problems and is used to set care to anti-pollution specifications, and is reported to be the only one in this area.

Gosse, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gosse, Curtiss, is married to the former Sharwin Meacham and the couple has one child, Jonathon, two years old. Besides liking to hunt and fish, Gosse is an auto racing fan.

Gosse is now offering the same complete auto services to the people of the Colby area as he has to the Curtiss area the past years, and says, “We invite all the folks of the area to sop in and say hello.”
