Bouquets of white gladioli and yellow pompoms graced the altar of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Milan for the marriage of Miss Marlene Ann Ramker, daughter of Mr.a nd Mrs. Merlin V. Ramker, Abbotsford, to Galen Harvey Schreiber, Route 2, Athens.

The Rev. Leonard Stashek performed the 1 p.m. ceremony held July 22, 1972. Soloists were Mrs. Harold Gumz, Athens, Mrs. Frank Beran, Athens, Mrs. LaVon Chapman, Milan, Mrs. Kenneth Fassee, Athens, and Mrs. William Denzin, Athens. Mrs. Orville Barkow, Abbotsford, was the organist, and Mrs. Thomas Lotter played the guitar.

The bride wore an A-line gown of white satin organza and white Chantilly lace. Chantilly lace appliques accented the gown, which had Chantilly lace bishop sleeves and a border at the bottom entwined with a white satin ribbon. The detachable train was attached by a white satin bow of satin organza. Her ensemble included a petal headpiece of Chantilly lace with a silk illusion veil and a bow of organza. The headpiece was trimmed with pearls and crystals. The bride carried a sweetheart cascade of white miniature carnations and Mary the Vour Roses, with baby’s breath entwined with ivy.

The bride’s sister, Mrs. Eddie J. Voss, Abbotsford, was the matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Miss Marilyn Schreiber, Athens, sister of the groom, and Miss Joan Schreiber, Athens, cousin of the groom. Serving as junior bridesmaid was Miss Barbara Ramker, Abbotsford. Miss Diane and Donna Schreiber of Athens, identical twins sister of the bridegroom were flower girls. Miss Lori Schreiber, Athens, also a sister of the bridegroom, was a miniature bride.

The bridesmaids and flower girls wore floor length gowns of yellow chiffon with Victorian necklines and bishop sleeves. The dresses were trimmed with matching lace and little flowers. Their pouf veils were of organza, trimmed with pearls and crystals. Each veil had a bow of organza. They carried bouquets of of white carnations and yellow pompoms edged with sprengri fern. The miniature bride was dressed identical to the bride. She carried a miniature bouquet of carnations, roses and baby’s breath entwined with ivy.

Best man was Eddie J. Voss, Abbotsford, brother-in-law of the bride, and groomsmen were Paul Hopperdietzel, Abbotsford, Frank Schreiber, Athens, brother of the bride, and Randy Syring, Edgar, cousin of the bride. Ring bearer was the bride’s nephew, Darrell Voss, Abbotsford.

The reception, supper and dance were held at the Trianon Ballroom in Athens.

The bride is a 1971 graduate of Abbotsford High School and was employed as a waitress at the Sweet Shop Café in Marshfield. The bridegroom is a 1967 graduate of Abbotsford High School, spent four years in the army stationed in Africa, and is presently engaged in the business of framing.

After a honeymoon trip to an undisclosed place, the couple will be at home at Route 2, Athens.

Out of town guests were from Colby, Unity, Spencer, Marshfield, Edgar, Stratford, Wausau, Oshkosh, Hortonville, Brantwood, Athens, Milan, Mosinee, Weyauwega, Curtiss, Stevens Point, Dorchester, Mayville and Slinger.

The newlyweds were honored with a wedding shower on June 23, given by the bridesmaids at Dorchester Memorial Hall.
