Sandley, Victor Leroy (11 December 1932 - 24 July 2021) With Flag

Victor Leroy Sandley, age 88, of Spencer, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at home with his wife of 68 years along with his daughter by his side.

Victor was born on December 11, 1932, in Cadott, to Frank and Millie (DeVoe) Sandley. At the age of 14 his family moved to rural Unity where he completed grade school. On February 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Carol A Wucherpfennig at Zion Lutheran church in Colby. On February 25, 1953, he was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served and was stationed at Ft. Carson and Camp Hale Colorado until his honorable discharge on February 25, 1955. He worked as a farmer and did construction work his entire life when not running dogs. Victor was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer, the American Legion Post No. 54 and the NRA. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, trapping and camping especially going out west and most recently just going up north. He was also very skilled at fixing whatever would not run or was broken, spending time with the kids and grandkids, along with telling stories about the olden days.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Carol children Victor K. (aka Kenny), Kim (Gwen), Jody (Mindy) all of Spencer, Cheryl Bruesewitz (Steve) of Unity, Dean, Brad (Lori) of Marshfield. Victor is further survived by Grandchildren, Melissa, Sara, Mischel, Nissa, Shaun, Kristen, Angela, Courtney, Cody, Cory, Vanesa, Emma, and Jacob along with 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Marge Watzke of Waunakee, and Gloria McKeller of Granton, and Sisters-in law Hildey Key of Burlington and Carol Konerik of Chippewa Falls. Carols Siblings Walter (Eileen), Glen (Debby), David (Nancy) Wucherpfennig, Lenora Williams, Lucille Bauer, Lois (Henry) Aumann along with many nieces, nephews, friends and hunting buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father in-law, brothers, Lavern, Odell, Ted, and Harold Sandley. Sister Charlotte Konerik, brother in-laws John Konerik, Jack Lima, Glen McKeller, Jerry Watzke, Marvin Wucherpfennig, Les Williams, James Bauer, and Son, Craig Sandley.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be designated later. The family would like to thank Compasses Hospice for their help in getting Victor home and neighbor and friend Aaron Yoder for his prayers and thoughtfulness.

Funeral services will be held at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lowell Bolstad officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield, with military honors by American Legion Post No. 54. The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also one hour before the time of service on Thursday.
