Young, Jacqueline M. “Jackie” (22 March 1928 – 24 July 2021)

Jacqueline “Jackie” M. Young, age 93, of Colby, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Colonial Center in Colby under the tender care of hospice.

Jackie was born on March 22, 1928, the daughter of Michael and Marie (Stauss) Stangl in Marshfield. She attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Marshfield. Jackie was united in marriage to William Young, Jr. on March 24, 1955, in Marshfield. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2012.

Jackie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Colby VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, embroidering dish towels, baking, camping, pontooning, watching the Packers, NASCAR, Brewers and horseracing, She loved getting ready for the holiday season and most importantly, spending time with her family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved seeing her four-legged grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by seven children: Sue (Mike) Gosse of Abbotsford, Bill (Sun) Young III, of Little Chute, Nancy (Bill) Koshak of Park Falls, Linda (Kurt) Rankl, Lori (Buck) Michlig, Mary (Al) Nixdorf all of Abbotsford and Lisa (Abe) Richter of Peshtigo; 12 grandchildren: Brittany (Rich) Morrison, Jackie (Paul) Cavaiani, Billy Young IV, Natasha (Quinn) Peterson, Eric Haskins (Katie Christianson), Erica Rankl (Patrick Schmidt), Justin Michlig, Jennifer (Adam) Van Rossum, Travis (Kayla) Nixdorf, Jeff Nixdorf, Derek (Ashley) Nixdorf and Scott (Katie) Zahn; 20 great-grandchildren: Madison and Alexia Morrison, Frankie, Gianni and Vinnie Cavaiani, Levi Peterson, Westin, Kolton and Hunter Haskins, Karter Eckstrom, Nevin, Ayden and Sidney Michlig, Morgan Van Rossum, Auri Nixdorf, Jay, Mackenzie and Pyper Zahn, Tyler Lambert and John Tiede. She is further survived by two brothers and three sisters: Gene Stangl, Bunnie Koenig, Bob (Sharon) Stangl, Judy (Wayne) Casperson and Patricia Carl; a brother-in-law, Windy Adler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters: Virgie Schoenfeldt and Darlene Adler; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Stangl and Dolores Stangl and three brothers-in-law, Bob Carl, Ervin Koenig and Melvin Schoenfeldt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at St. Mary Help of Christians Parish in Colby. Father Joseph Redfern will officiate. Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.
