Philip L. Cassata, 35, principal at Deerfield Junior-Senior High School since
1963, is the new principal at Abbotsford High School.
He replaces Alan Peters, who earlier accepted the position, but resigned when
adequate house could not be found for the family.
Harold Miller, Superintendent of Schools, said Cassata will begin his duties in
30 days, or possible sooner if a replacement can be found for Cassata at
Deerfield.
Cassata graduated from Madison East High School and in 1961 received a
Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. In 1967, he
received a Master’s degree from Stout State University, Menomonie.
From 1961 to 1963 he taught social studies in the Fall Creek School System.
Cassata is married and has two children. They will move October 1 into an
apartment in Abbotsford, and he hopes to build a home in the near future.
