Goeltz, Nancy R. (19 Aug 1972)

A 3 p.m. ceremony uniting Nancy R. Goeltz and Wayne H. Sterzinger in marriage was performed Saturday, August 19, 1972 at the United Methodist Church in Colby by the Rev. B. Scott and the Rev. L. Diedrich.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Goeltz, Colby, and Mrs. Morris M. Sterzinger, Colby, and the late Morris M. Sterzinger.

Mrs. Lowell Pieckert sang “A Time for Us” and Dr. E.D. Pfefferkorn sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs. Robert Gosse at the Organ.

The bride wore a silk organza over satin gown with French puffed sleeves. The gathered skirt with pleated border attached to a re-embroidered Alencon waist had a chapel sweep train. She carried a bouquet of blue cornflowers, pink daisies, white baby’s breath, white carnations and green ivy.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Miss Linda Goeltz, with Laurie Sterzinger, Colby, sister of the groom, Kay Westberg and Margaret Goeltz, both sisters of the , serving as bridesmaids. The miniature bride was Miss Merrie Neitzel, Colby, cousin of the bride.

They were attired in white nylon dresses with the maid of honor and miniature bride’s dresses trimmed with pink daisies and the bridesmaids dresses trimmed with blue daisies. All gowns were trimmed with moss green velvet ribbon. Each carried a white lace parasol with green bows.

Best man was Gary Sterzinger, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were brother of the bridegroom, Morris Sterzinger of Grand Forks, and Gerald of Colby, Glen Goeltz, Colby, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Blake Sterzinger, the bridegroom’s cousin, Grand Forks. Ushers were Eldon Westberg of Colby and Steven Sterzinger of Oshkosh.

A dinner was served at St. Mary’s gym in Colby, with the reception and dance following at the Dorchester Memorial Hall in Dorchester.

The bride is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School and a 1970 graduate of the Vocation and Technical School in Marshfield, and was employed at the Colby Clinic.

The bridegroom is a 1969 graduate of Colby High School and will be a senior at WSU-Superior.
