Leonhard, Henry L. (6 May 1909 – 4 Sep 1972)

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at Christ Lutheran Church for Henry L. Leonhard, 63, 112 S. Fourth Street, Abbotsford, who died Monday, September 4, 1972 at 1:10 p.m., after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home.

The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke, pastor, will officiate, with burial to be made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mr. Leonhard worked for the Soo Line Railroad for the past 43 years and resided in Abbotsford since 1951.

He was born in Manitowoc County May 6, 1909 and married Norma Jewett in Unity on October 22, 1938.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was a trustee and member of the men’s club.

Survivors, besides his wife, include a son, Kenneth of Wausau; and two daughters, Mrs. Harvey (Ruth) Witt Jr., Abbotsford, and Elaine at home.

He is also survived by five brothers, Mars, Edgar; Sylvester, California; Leander, Rib Lake; Ralph, Unity; Arvin, Eau Claire; three sisters, Mrs. Nick (Irene) Steffes, Atwood Mrs. Harry (Viola) Untiedt, Atwood, and Mrs. Gordon (Clara) Dean, California.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Leonhard, Henry L. (1909 – 1972)

Funeral services for Henry Leonhard, Abbotsford, were held September 7, 1972 at the Christ Lutheran Church, with burial in the Abbotsford Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke conducted the service. The church choir sang “The Lord’s My Shepard,” “I’ll Not Want,” accompanied by Miss Jill Bremer at the organ.

Pallbearers were John Busse, Paul Degenhardt, William Kalepp, Cecil Oehler, Richard Wagner and Ervin Zahorka.
