Stoiber, Mr./Mrs. Alvin (Silver – 22 Oct 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Stoiber, Dorchester, observed their 25th wedding anniversary Saturday night at Memorial Hall in Dorchester, with about 400 guests for dancing and refreshments. Entertainment included a mock wedding. On Sunday they entertained at dinner at their home for their parents, brothers and sister, their children, and other close relatives.

The former Barbara Fischer and Alvin Stoiber were married October 22, 1927 at St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester by the Rev. Philip Weller. Since that time they have farmed in the Town of Mayville. They have one son, Richard, at home, and two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Barbara) Graham, Dorchester, and Margaret, Hartford. They also have one grandchild.

Mr. Stoiber has been active in community affairs and farm organizations. He has served as clerk of the Town f Mayville for 21 years; served on the board of the Clover Hill Cheese Factory for 10 years, and also served as its president; served on the board of directors of the Taylor County Rural Electric Cooperative for 6 years, and was secretary for three years. He served as delegate to the AMPI convention, and has been a delegate of the REA several tiems.

He is a member of St. Louis Church and the Holy Name Society.

Mrs. Stoiber is a practical nurse, and has worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, and at Memorial Hospital in Medford, both before and after marriage.

Dinner guests at the Stoiber home Sunday included their three children, Richard, Margaret and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Graham and son; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stoiber, Dorchester, and her mother, Mrs. Barbara Fischer, Medford.

Other relatives there were: Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fischer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Millikin and family, and David Miller, Hartford; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fischer and Debbie, New Berlin;

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Fischer and family, Elmwood Park, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fischer and Tim, Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shrout, Watersmeet, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stoiber, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Decker, Mrs. Sophie Dessl, and Frank Dessl, Dorchester.
