Binning, Cheryl Ray (5 May 1973)

Rev. Bervie Scott conducted the 6 p.m. ceremony May 5, 1973 in the Colby Methodist Church uniting in marriage Miss Cheryl Ray Binning, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Binning of Unity, and Gale Peter Malke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Malke of Crookston, Minnesota.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride appeared in Chantilly lace and imported English net gown, with scalloped neckline, bishop sleeves, modified silhouette skirt with lace motifs and attached chapel sweep train. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and baby’s breath with white streamers.

The bride’s attendants, Miss Linda Holland, maid of honor; Faye Malke, Georgia Brandt, and Vicki Binning, bridesmaids; wore rainbow colored gowns of dotted Swiss with empire waist, full skirt with short train, and three quarter length sleeves. Each carried a basket of carnations and daisies.

Serving the groom as best man was his brother, Glenn Malke. Groomsmen were Jim Chinquist, Craig Binning and Kevin Teuteberg. Showing guests to their seats were Michael Owens and Jeffery Teuteberg. Music was provided by Mrs. Ansel Messer, the organist, and Mrs. David Calley, soloist.

A reception, dinner and dance honoring the couple were held at the Village Plaza in Spencer.

The new Mrs. Malke is a graduate of Colby High School and North Central Technical Institute in Wausau. She had been employed as a stenographer. Her husband graduated from Harvey High School and the University of North Dakota. They are making their first home at 6200 78th Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
