Massachusetts Prize Winning Quilt (1979)

The Clark County Historical Society will be displaying an award-winning National Cranberry Quilt, to be shipped from Massachusetts, May 1, and which is expected to arrive May 5. The quilt is made up of quilt patches selected from a nation-wide contest of embroidery and applique designs relating to the cranberry industry. (Clark County has a cranberry producer in the south-western part.)

Sewing as the inspiration for a quilt show, response has been good and numerous quilts being offered for display from May 1 through May 18.

The Cranberry Quilt will be taken to the Rural Museum at Colby for the final weekend of the display, May 19-20, after making its initial appearance at Clark County’s Fair Arts Museum in Neillsville.

The show will be open to the public from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. from May 5 through May 18. Reservations for group or club tours in the forenoon may be made by writing to Ella Stucki, Rt. 2, Box 70, Neillsville, WI 54456.
