Granton FFA Seeks Aid For Project (1979)
FFA members from the Granton High School will be calling on famers in the
Granton area this Friday morning, May 4, to ask for a donation to send two local
handicapped youth to Camp Wawbeek, Wisconsin Dells, this summer. Brian Jennings
of Chili and John Perrin of Loyal have been selected to attend.
This year, the FFA members are asking farmers for an old battery, a sack of
oats, a sack of corn or a money donation. Batteries Unlimited of Marshfield and
Beilke Feed Mill of Granton are cooperating by repurchasing, at premium prices,
the materials collected. All proceeds will b given to the boys to attend camp.
If any farmer is missed or if there are any friends or town people who would
like to help, they may call the Granton School and the FFA members will stop.
Tom Hasz, local president, and Francis Steiner, his advisor, are in charge of
the project.
