The engagement of Ms. Carol Sorenson and Mrs. Ward Isaacs would like to be announced by their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sorenson of Stanley and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Isaacs of Stanley.

Carol is a student at District one Technical Institute, Eau Claire, and Ward is presently employed at E. G. Artz Incorporated of Milwaukee.

The wedding is being planned for this summer.

Sorenson, Carol Jean (4 Aug 1973)

Bouquets of white gladiolas and yellow mums adorned the altar of Holy Family Church in Stanley, as Miss Carol Jean Sorenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sorenson, route 3, Stanley, exchanged wedding vows with Ward Carlton Isaacs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Isaacs of Stanley, on Saturday, August 4, 1973.

The Reverend Joseph Marx officiated at the 1:30 double ring ceremony and nuptial mass. The bride’s brothers, David and Donald Sorenson, served as altar boys. Miss Sharon Etten was the organist and Mrs. Carol Mohr was the soloist, singing “Sunrise, Sunset”, “Wedding Song”, and “Wedding Prayer.”

The maid of honor was Miss Pauline Obmascher of Prairie du Chien. Miss Judy Ryba of Stanley served as bridesmaid in place of Miss Terri Smith, Tustin, California, the bride’s cousin, who became ill on Saturday.

Best man for the groom was Carl Shakal, and the groomsman was Dale Isaacs, brother of the groom. Service as ushers were brothers of the couple, Larry Sorenson and Keith Isacs.

The bride’s sister and brother, Janice and James Sorenson, were miniature bride and and groom, with Janice attired identically to the bride.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds greeted about 300 guests at a reception held at the home of the bride’s parents, where a dance was also held in the evening. On their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, they will reside at 740 West Wisconsin Avenue, Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

The bride and groom are both graduates of Stanley-Boy High School. The bride has been a student at District one Technical Institute, Eau Claire, and will continue her studies at Waukesha County Technical Institute. The groom graduate from District One Tech, Eau Claire, and is employed as a welder for E.G. Artz Company, Milwaukee.
