Wehlacz, Josephine (6 Feb 1886 – 15 Apr 1973)

Josephine Wehlacz, 87, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley on April 15, 1973. Josephine Stroinski was born February 6, 1886 in Poland. She came to the states in 1888. On September 28, 1910 she was united in marriage at St. Hedwig’s Church to Charles S. Wehlacz. She was a member of the Rosary Society, St. Hedwig’s Parish and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Thorp, on Wednesday, April 18, 1973 at 10:30 a.m., with Father John Puerner officiating. Burial was made in Old St Hedwig’s Cemetery. Rosary was recited Tuesday, April 18 at 7:45 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Malen Teclaw, Roman Stroinski, Marion Herman, Leo Strzelecki, Ray Stroinski and Ed Stroinski.

Surviving are four sons, Ted Wehlacz and Victor Herman Sr., Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Louis Wehlacz, Diamond Bar, California, Ed Wehlacz, Thorp; four daughters, (Elizabeth) Mrs. Ed Glanz, Franklin Park, Illinois, (Regina) Mrs. Les Rosecrans, Arcadia, California, (Emily) Mrs. Ernest Rohde, Franklin Park, Illinois, (Clara) Mrs. Vlad Zwierzynski of Los Angeles, California; two brothers, Rank and John Stroinski, both of Thorp; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Strzelecki of Chicago, Mrs. Verna Teclaw, Thorp; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wehlacz; her parents, Anton and Stella Stroinski; three brothers, Joseph, Mike and Ted Stroinski; one sister, Mrs. Anna Domzalski, and one grandchild.
