Drescher, Marla Jean (28 April 1979) * Located her first name in the engagements.

After a wedding trip to Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park, the new Mr. and Mrs. Joel Raine will reside at 305 W. Fifth St., Neillsville. The couple were married last Saturday afternoon, April 28, in the United Church of Christ in Neillsville with the Rev. Gary Clark officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Drescher, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Raine, all of Neillsville.

With the father of the bride presenting her to the altar, the couple were joined as music was provided, “If” and “Loves Grown Deep,” by Deon Spangler on the organ and Diane Havlicek as vocalist.

Serving as maid of Honor was Leyla Gungor of Madison, who was joined by Mrs. Eugene Opelt and Mrs. Steve Knoop, both of Neillsville. The bride was attired in a white floor-length empire-waist gown, complete with a Juliet headpiece and fingertip veil. She carried white roses with blue happy flowers and baby’s breath, all silk. The bridesmaids were dressed in light blue floor-length gowns featuring white lace blouson tops. Their flowers, all silk, were made up of blue happy flowers and baby’s breath. Stephanie Lynn Knoop was the flower girl.

Richy Fitzmaurice was bestman. He was joined in the party by Eugene Opelt and Steve Knoop. Ushering were Kenneth Marg and Jeff Raine. All of the men were from Neillsville.

Following the ceremonies, a reception and dance was held in the Neillsville American Legion Hall.

The bride, a 1978 graduate of Neillsville High School, is a secretary for Drescher Oil Company of Neillsville. The groom, a 1977 graduate of the same school, is an employee at the Nelson Muffler plant in Neillsville.
