Gulcynski, Vincent (6 Jan 1895 – 26 Apr 1973)

Vincent Gulcynski, 78, died suddenly at his home, April 26, 1973. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, April 28, 1973 at 10:30 a.m., with Reverend Will Grelle officiating. Interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery.

Vincent was born January 6, 1895 at Buffalo, New York. In 1900 his parents moved their family from Buffalo to settle in the Junction area north of Stanley, Wisconsin, where they took up farming. After the sudden death of his father in 1919, Vincent farmed with his mother until his marriage to Frances Sliwka on October 10, 1922.

Mr. Gulcynski moved his family to a dairy farm in the Thorp Reseburg community in 1935, where he lived until his move to the city of Thorp in 1954. After his retirement his son Robert took over the farming business.

Pallbearers were: Mike Gulcynski, Jim Gulcynski, Bill Ustruck, grandsons: David Gulcynski, Donald Sliwka; nephews; and Ronald Benzschawel.

Surviving are his wife, Frances; two sons, Frank Gulcynski, Rockford Illinois, Robert Gulcynski, Thorp; three daughters, Emily Ustruck, West Allis, Wisconsin, Geraldine Janette, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Judith Jacobson, Libertyville, Illinois; twenty one grandchildren; two sisters, Eva Filipiak and Jennie Fijalkiewicz, both of Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Tony and Louis Gulcynski.
