Kroeplin, Violet Louise (26 May 1973)

The Faith Evangelical Free Church was the setting chosen by Miss Violet Louise Kroeplin, Gilman, Wisconsin, for her marriage to Mr. Rollin McCartney, Gilman, Wisconsin, on May 26, 1973.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. William Kroeplin, Gilman, and Mrs. Ella McCartney, Gilman. The Reverend Dwight Cook read the double ring ceremony at two o’clock p.m. Harold Isenberger sang “Wedding Prayer” and “Precious Love,” accompanied by his wife on the piano.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride chose a Victorian floor length gown of white cotton lace, detailed with high ruffled neck and puff sleeves with a dainty scalloped hem. She wore a fingertip veil which was adorned with small loops of seed pearls and rolled organza. Her bouquet of red roses, tipped carnations, complemented by the blue flowers and blue ribbon, was carried on a white Bible.

Mrs. Aaron Pepin, cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid. She wore a floor length gown of white and turquoise nylon over acetate with a matching headpiece. She carried a bouquet of red carnations and white roses.

The best man for the groom was Willard Bechlam(?), brother-in-law of the groom.

Brothers of the bride seated the guests. A reception for 150 guests took place in the church basement in the afternoon. The three tiered cake was cut by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Ray Fate.

The mother of the bride was in the receiving line wearing a mint green two-piece suit. The groom’s mother chose a red dress with navy blue neckline. Each costume was completed with a corsage of red and white carnations.

Acting as hostess for the bride was her niece, Laurie Lynn Kroeplin, wearing a yellow nylon dress trimmed with white at the neck.

Assisting with the lunch during the reception were Mrs. Beatrice Herman, Mrs. Chester Strack and Mrs. Delano Kroeplin. Waiting on tables were Diane Lemmke and Jeanne Richter.

Following a brief honeymoon the couple is at home in Gilman, where the groom is employed at Drangles Cheese Factory. The bride and groom both attended Gilman School.

There were guests from Wadsworth, Illinois, Chicago, Illinois, Elgin, Illinois, Dodge Center, Minnesota, Bloomington, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Wausau, Colby, Plum City, Chetek, Hannibal, Medford, Thorp, Gilman and Stanley.
