Kapfer, Mr. and Mrs. Lee (Golden - 1979)

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Kapfer, Rt. 2 Neillsville, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 4. A reception and dance was held at the American Legion Hall in honor of the occasion. The couple was married in West Bend by a Justice of the Peace. Both of their attendant Arnold Weston and Hazel Williams were present for the anniversary.

For the celebration, Elsie wore a blue flowered dress with a gold corsage; Lee wore a navy suit with a gold boutonniere. A three-tiered cake with a gold fountain and nine small cakes surrounding it was made for the couple by Gerri Schultz. Terry Kapfer, the couple’s grandson, gave the blessing.

Lee “Happy” Kapfer was born and attended school in Neillsville. Elsie Kapfer was born and attended school in Clemons, Iowa.

The couple enjoy bowling and gardening and love birds. Lee likes building wishing wells and bird houses. He is also chairman of the Town of Hewett.

The couple have four sons, Bill and Richard both of Rockford, Ill., Bobby of Black River Falls and Michael of Stoughton. And they have ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
