Yankee, Ruth E. (12 February 1899 – 4 August1979)

A Neillsville resident all of her 80 years, Mrs. Arnold (Ruth E.) Yankee passed away Saturday morning in the Neillsville Memorial Home.

The deceased was born on February 12, 1889, in the Town of Hewett to Carl and Christina (Loerch) Pollnow. After her education, she remained at home until her marriage on September 16, 1925, to Arnold H. Yankee. The couple were residents of the city of Neillsville all their lives.

Mrs. Yankee was a resident of the Neillsville Memorial Home for the past year due to failing health.

Surviving her besides her husband is one sister, Mrs. Susie Sollie, of Neillsville. Preceding her in death were four sisters, Alvina, Ella, Emma and Rose, and five brothers, Albert, Fred, Edward, Walter and Louie

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with arrangements made by the Gesche Funeral Home.

Yankee, Ruth (12 February 1899 – 4 August 1979)

Mrs. Arnold (Ruth) Yankee, 80, A Neillsville resident, who died on August 4, was buried in the Neillsville City Cemetery on the afternoon of August 7, after services from St. John‘s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated with the Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Music offered at the service was by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tess. And the pallbearers were DeWayne Solie, Arlie Fritz, Henry Rahn, Elliot Warlum, Ted Dux and Edward Schilling.

Those attending from out of town were Mr./Mrs. Alfred Lefstad, Gen and Irene Johnson, DeWayne Solie, Mr./Mrs. Ed Schilling and Dr./Mrs Carl Manz, all of Eau Claire; Lubertus Loerch, Rushford, Mn; Henry and Bill Collins, Merrillan; Raymond Stuve and Henry Wampole, of Humbird; and Mr./Mrs. Chester Freedlund, Pittsville.
