Capen, Cindy (11 August 1979)

With the Rev. Steve Ware of the Neillsville Assembly of God Church officiating, Cindy Capen and Joseph Weis were married in Saturday, August 11, afternoon ceremonies. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Capen, Rt. 4, Neillsville, while the groom is the son of Ervin Weis of Marshfield and Marcella Thieme of rural Marshfield.

The bride’s parents presented her to the altar and her new husband. Carrying a bouquet of roses and multi-colored carnations, the bride chose a gown of sheer Dacron, featuring Chantilly lace, a Queen Anne’s neckline, bishop sleeves and a skirt sweeping to a chapel train. Her vail was of mating material, lace-edged and of fingertip length.

Elaine Trybula of Willard was maid of honor. She was joined by Alaine Elmhorst of Granton, Judy Weis of Marshfield and Jule Capen of Neillsville. Their red, green, yellow and tan gowns were of the halter style, and they carried bouquets of daisies and carnations color-matched to their dresses.

Jim Van Dyk of Chili was bestman. He was joined by Dan Weis and Gary Capen, both of Marshfield, and Robin Capen of West Allis. Ushering were Jeff Weis and Clay Capen.

Music for the service included the groom singing “I’ll Never Find Another You.” He was accompanied by guitarist Dale Novak. Following the ceremonies, a reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville.

The bride is a 1976 graduate of Silverton High School in Silverton, Oregon, and a 1979 graduate of Stevens Point Central Beauty Academy. The groom is a 1977 graduate of Marshfield Senior High and is employed by Mall Furniture of Marshfield.

Prenuptial events for the couple included a shower hosted by Judy Weir, Sue Wolf, Elaine Trybula and Alaine Elmhorst. An undisclosed wedding trip, the couple were to reside in rural Auburndale.
