Oldham, John Christopher (8 July 1980 – 18 September 2021)

On Saturday, September 18, 2021, John Christopher Oldham, 41, was welcomed into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a brief, but intense battle with COVID.

John was born to Dennis and Dixie Oldham on July 8, 1980, in Neillsville. John attended school in Neillsville until his Freshman year when his family moved to Wautoma.

John grew up golfing and would often ride his bike miles, with clubs just to play. On Ladies Day at Neillsville Country Club, when boys were not allowed, John would mow lawn after lawn to have money to buy soda and slices of Hot Stuff pizza on the days that he golfed.

John attended Wautoma High school and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Throughout High School and College John worked at Two Oaks North Golf Course where his love of the game flourished. He always enjoyed the interaction with others and the element of helping people improve their game. John was a scratch golfer who never practiced, could keep track of everyone’s score in his head and brought so much joy to the game. Most recently he enjoyed a membership with Superstition Mountain Country Club, where he served on Golf Committee, and formed beautiful friendships.

In late 2003, John started dating his wife, Roxanne Radke. After a brief courtship, they married on November 27, 2004. One year later their son Beau was born and three years after that, Alexa joined the family. John’s family meant everything to him. As a family they explored 44 states, loved taking road trips, enjoyed going to the beach and trying new restaurants. From an early age he taught his children to golf, he taught them about Jesus, how to work hard, persevere and always to try their best. John modeled for his family and friends how to be loyal and was the best friend ever.

As a young man, John was recruited into the financial industry, first in mortgage and then into a Financial Advisory role. John moved through the ranks of Thrivent Financial, New York Life and Met Life. Upon leaving the captive agencies, he went on to be an Independent Financial Advisor, forming several companies, covering a wide range of financial products and services.

Most recently, John had developed software for the financial industry, launched a mutual fund, and started a financial products platform aimed at providing financial products and training to agents across the entire United States. His company continues in his honor.

Throughout his 20-year career John was a visionary and mentor. His love of learning and sense of entrepreneurialism ignited a passion for this industry that was undeniable. He leaves many lifelong friends behind.

John is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Oldham, his Grandpa Walter (“Bunny”) Oldham, Grandma Barb Oldham, and Father in Love, Dennis Wedde.
