Oldham, Linda Lou (Engagement - 1979)

Recently announcing the engagement of their daughter, Linda Lou, to Larry Polzin, were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oldham, Rt. 2, Neillsville. The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Polzin, Racine. An October wedding is being planned. Linda is a 1978 graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed at the Neillsville Foundry. Larry is a graduate of a Racine high school and employed by J.I. Case, Racine.

Oldham, Linda ( 27 October 1979)

With her father giving her away, Linda Oldham was married to Larry Polzin in early afternoon, October 27, ceremonies, held at the Neillsville United Church of Christ, the service was led by the Rev. William Noble. The bride is the daughter of Ray and Dorothy Oldham, Rt. 2 Neillsville, and the groom is the son of Louis and Georgia Polzin, Racine.

Acting as maid of honor was Julie Struensee, the bride’s niece. She was joined by Laurie Oldham, the bride’s sister-in-law; Mary Ann Langreck, sister of the bride; and Nancy Zschernitz, the bride’s niece. All the attendants were from Neillsville.

Attending the groom, was Ken Paulson, a friend of the groom from Racine as bestman. He was joined by LeRoy Oldham, twin brother of the bride, Bob Langreck, the new couple’s brother-in-law; and Terry Zschernitz, a nephew of the bride. The latter three were from Neillsville. Ushering were Mark Struensee, a nephew of the bride, from Neillsville and Marvin Polzin, an uncle of the grooms from Racine. Corey Polzin of Racine, the groom’s brother, was ringbearer and Shiela Pozega, Neillsville was the flower girl.

Barb Richmond, Neillsville was accompanied by Rita Stewart, Greenwood, in an offering of musical selections.

The bride chose an empire-style gown of rosepoint lace trimmed with seed pearls and crystal pleating. It featured a Queen Anne neckline, bishop sleeves and pleated flounce hemline, sweeping to a chapel train. Matching lace edged the three-tiered veil. White roses, carnations and orange forget-me-nots were in the bride’s bouquet. The maid of honor was attired similarly to the bride while the other bride’s attendants wore orange gowns. They carried bouquets of carnations, daisies and roses. The groom and his attendants were attired in dark-trimmed, light brown tuxedos

Following the wedding service, the reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville. The couple left on an Orlando, Florida, wedding trip.

Prenuptial event included a Neillsville shower hosted by Laurie Oldham, Nancy Zschernitz and Julie
Struensee; a Racine shower hosted by Georgia Polzin; and bachelor’s party by Ken Paulson of Racine. The couple will make their home in Racine where he is employed by the J.I. Case Co. The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School, and the groom is a graduate of J.I. School, Racine.
