Meier, Adolph “Ed” (6 May 1909 – 2 December 1979)

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, December 5, for Adolph “Ed” Meier, 70 of Neillsville. Meier was pronounced dead on arrival at Neillsville Memorial Hospital at 10:15 a.m., December 2. He had been helping his brother-in-law with farm work that morning. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, services were held at the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Henseler officiating, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Meier was born on May 6, 1909, in the Neillsville area to Adolph and Christine (Dobes) Meier. After receiving his education, he worked for the American Stores Dairies for 30 years. It was during this time that he married Mary Boldt in November 26, 1929, Neillsville ceremonies.

The deceased also worked for Tesmer Construction Company for several years and later for Nelson Muffler until retiring.

Surviving him besides his wife is one son, Wayne, Neillsville; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Glinski, Stratford; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ella) Meihak and Mrs. Frederick (Dorothy) Quast, both of Neillsville, and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Beyer, Stoughton; and five brothers, Louie, Clarence, Charles and William, all of Neillsville, and Frank of Salem, Oregon. Joining them as survivors are ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was one brother, Arthur, and another brother and a sister who died in infancy.

Meier, Adolph “Ed” (6 May 1909 – 2 December 1979)

Funeral services were held for Adolph “Ed” Meier, 70, of Neillsville, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church on December 5. He had passed away on December 2. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated with the Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville in charge of arrangements. Burial was mde in the parish cemetery.

Music was provided by LaNiece Schiesel. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Kren, Edison Mathis, William Dux, Jerry Christie, Norman Lynch and Ernest Gaden.

Attending the service from out of town were Mr./Mrs. Richard Glinski and Jo Anne Glinski, of Stratford, Michael Glinski, Wis. Rapids; Mr./Mrs. Harold Beyer, Stoughton; Larry Hainz and Mr./Mrs. Greg Tomac, of Eau Claire; Mr./Mrs. Louis Glinski, Mr./Mrs. James Glinski and Mr./Mrs. Louis Koran, of Marshfield.
