The Thorp High School graduation class of 1923 celebrated their 50th class reunion with a delicious dinner at the Thorpedo on Saturday evening, September 8, 1973.

They were very honored to have as a special guest one of their former instructors, Mr. Art Gaffney, of Stanley. During the dinner, Mr. Kenneth Lindquist, master of ceremonies, asked each member to give a short sketch of his or her life, covering the past 50 years.

Following the dinner all were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chet Glasshof, where the remainder of the evening was spent reminiscing about old times and escapades of their school days.

Of the 15 original members of the class, 10 were in attendance, 3 were unable to come, and two are deceased.

Those in attendances were: Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Albers, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Chet (Hester Bradshaw) Glasshof, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Tekla Hiedeman) Anderson, Neillsville; Miss Eve Kronberg, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lindquist, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Leighton Morris, Ladysmith; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schmidt, Thorp; Miss Elsie Verkuilen, Milwaukee; Mrs. Linda Walsdorf Luffy, Thorp, and Mrs. Tracy Zaborowski Bujalski, Chicago.

Those unable to come were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Broeren, Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Kathryn Czyzewicz) Czech and Mrs. Pearl Aucutt Ness. The two deceased members were Tom Beauchamp and John Kurtinaitis.

All left feeling 50 years younger with a strong resolution to meet again next year.
