The arrival of Dr. Vasu D. Arora, a native of India, to Owen, 11 miles east of Thorp, was called the finest Christmas present the community could receive.

The nice words came from Mayor Edward J. Lehnen upon the opening of the doors of the Owen Medical Clinic for the first time in four years, this past Monday.

The City of Owen itself has been without a physician since 1969 when Dr. Allan Phillips left for a position in England.

The clinic was built 15years ago by the owen Development Corp., primarily through donations from area residents.

Owen’s sister community, Withee, has a doctor, J. Wilmar Johnson, who has been practicing for many years. This metropolis is located one mile west of Owen.
