Dux, Amanda A. (17 February 1895 – 26 January 1980)

A long time Town of Pine Valley farm wife, Mrs. Otto (Amanda A.) Dux, 84, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Saturday, January 26, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville with the Rev. Paul Forde officiating, burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery, with Gesche Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The deceased was born on February 17, 1895, in Kiel to Adam and Elizabeth (Feldman) Bub. After receiving her education in the Kiel area, she worked in Milwaukee and Chicago before her October 19, 1920, marriage to Otto H. Dux in Kiel ceremonies.

The couple moved to the Neillsville area and farmed in the Town of York for one year before moving to their Town of Pine Valley, Rt. 2 Neillsville, where they farmed until retirement. Mrs. Dux was also employed by the Neillsville Memorial Hospital for several years and was an active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving her, besides her husband, is one son, Harris, Hudson, two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Marian) DeCremer of DeForest and Mrs. Robert (Julie) Thompson of Milwaukee, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Dux, Amanda A. (17 February 1895 - 26 January 1980)

Funeral services for Mrs. Otto (Amanda A.) Dux, 84, were held in the early afternoon of January 29, from the Calvary Lutheran church, Neillsville, with burial taking place in the Neillsville City Cemetery. She died three days prior to the services.

Officiated by the Rev. Paul Forde, the services were arranged by Gesche Funeral Home. Hymns, and by the church choir and accompanied by Wilfred Galstad, were “Abide With Me” and “Rock Of Ages.”

Serving as pallbearers were Willard, Emmett, Gene, Louis and Art Bub, and Frank Bruns, all nephews of the deceased.

Those attending from out of town included Willard Bub, Sheboygan; Emmett Bub, Manitowoc; Gene Bub, Chula Vista, Calif.; Franklin Bruns, Anne Zabler, and Mr./Mrs. Robert Thompson, of Milwaukee; Mr./Mrs. Arthur Bub, Wausau; Mr./Mrs. Louis Bub, Plymouth; and Mr./Mrs. Harris Dux & sons and Richard Dux, all of Hudson. Also attending were John DeCremer, Minneapolis; Dr./Mrs. James DeCremer, Middleton; Mr./Mrs. Louis Nemitz, New Auburn; Beulah Landerman and Harry Gasper, of Kenosha; Mr./Mrs. George Volz, Wis. Rapids; Emma Gerber and Alma Kaufman, of Fairchild; Esther Bremer and Raymond McKimm, of Marshfield; and Mrs. Clarence DeCremer, DeForest.
